Berlin and Washington: The Political Battles That Could Decide Ukraine’s Fate
fate may depend upon the battle within Germany’s
ruling coalition over its policy towards Putin’s Russia. In the United States, the new Republican Senate will
battle the Obama administration over weapons for Ukraine. Powerful factions in each
country believe that concessions to Putin will bring a diplomatic solution.
